Nation's Leader in Eating Disorder Treatment Opens Facility in Dallas, Texas
DALLAS, TX (May 31, 2009)—The Renfrew Center, the nation’s first eating disorder facility and largest treatment network, announces the opening of The Renfrew Center of Texas. Specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and related mental illnesses, the new facility is Renfrew’s tenth location.
The Renfrew Center of Texas is located in Dallas, and is operating under the leadership of Site Director John Gorman, LPC. Programming at the new site offers a comprehensive range of services including a Day Treatment Program, an Intensive Outpatient Program, support groups, individual, family and couples therapy, and nutritional and psychiatric consultation.
“We’re thrilled to bring our experience to Texas, and are overwhelmed at the positive response we’ve already received from the Dallas area,” says Samuel E. Menaged, JD, President and CEO of The Renfrew Centers.
The Renfrew Center is one of the only specialized eating disorder treatment facilities that works directly with most major insurance companies. Treatment is backed by experienced staff members specializing in the psychology of eating disorders, and encourages people to participate actively in their own growth and recovery.
Jessica Setnick, MS, RD, CSSD, Dallas eating disorders expert and author of The Eating Disorders Clinical Pocket Guide, welcomes Renfrew’s expertise to the area. “The more options we have for our patients, the better. And now patients coming home to Dallas from treatment at The Renfrew Centers of Florida or Philadelphia will have a step-down option to help ease the transition.”
The Renfrew Center has been a pioneer in eating disorder treatment and research since 1985. Over 50,000 women have passed through its doors and The Renfrew Center Foundation has trained nearly 20,000 professionals. The Renfrew Centers accept most insurance and provide a comprehensive range of services in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
