Nation's Leader in Eating Disorder Treatment Opens Facility in Bethesda, MD
BETHESDA, MD (December 1, 2009)—The Renfrew Center, the nation’s first eating disorder facility and largest treatment network since 1985, announces the opening of a new site in Bethesda, The Renfrew Center of Maryland. Specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and related mental illnesses, the new facility is Renfrew’s tenth location.
Programming at The Renfrew Center of Maryland offers a comprehensive range of services including a Day Treatment Program, an Intensive Outpatient Program, support groups, individual, family and couples therapy, and nutritional and psychiatric consultation.
“We’re thrilled to bring our experience to Maryland, and are overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve already received from the Bethesda area,” says Samuel E. Menaged, JD, President and CEO of The Renfrew Centers.
The Renfrew Center is one of the only specialized eating disorder treatment facilities that works directly with most major insurance companies. Treatment is backed by experienced staff members specializing in the psychology of eating disorders, and encourages people to participate actively in their own growth and recovery.
“Renfrew does important work in the eating disorder community,” said Page Morris, LCSW, Site Director for The Renfrew Center of Maryland. “I’m excited and honored to be working with a team of committed and highly skilled professionals in providing quality, personalized care to our patients.”
The Renfrew Center is a pioneer in eating disorder treatment and research. Over 50,000 women have passed through its doors and The Renfrew Center Foundation has trained nearly 20,000 professionals. The Renfrew Centers accept most insurance and provide a comprehensive range of services in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Maryland, and Guatemala – an independent affiliate.
